These result from the spin dependence of the long- and medium-range one- and two-pion exchange antinucleon-nucleon potential and the state dependence of .

The nucleon-nucleon scattering in a large magnetic background is considered to find its potential to change the neutrino emissivity of the neutron stars. For this purpose, we consider the one-pion-exchange approximation to find the nucleon-nucleon (NN) cross section in a background field as large as 10{sup 15}{sup 18} G. We investigate the polarization parameters in low-energy antiproton-proton elastic (p̄p→p̄p) and charge-exchange (p̄p→n̄n) scattering. The predictions for unmeasured observables are based on our new energy-dependent partial-wave analysis of all antiproton-proton scattering data below MeV/c antiproton laboratory momentum, which gives an optimal description of the existing database.

tic (p~,~n) scattering [2], the enhancement of the K+-nucleon interaction in the medium [3], and the behavior of certain spin observables measured in inelastic (p~,p ′) transitions [4]. In the medium, a meson gets modified due to its coupling to nuclear excitations. ized topics: fundamental symmetries [16], meson spectroscopy [17], nucleon-antinucleon (NN) and antinucleon-nucleus (NA) scattering [18], medium-energy physics with antiprotons [19]. ∗Lecture presented at the Indian-Summer School on Interaction in Hadronic Systems, Praha(TheCzechRepublic),25–31August 1.

Valerio 2, Trieste, Italy Jean-Marc Richard. Some of the salient features of nucleon-nucleon (NN) and antinucleon-nucleon (NN) couplings at intermediate energies are considered within a single scattering approximation. The role of distortion considerations in inelastic scattering is stressed and in the case of nucleon scattering, some of the implications of medium corrections to the NN.

We present nucleon–antinucleon scattering experiments performed at the Low Energy Antiproton Ring (LEAR) of CERN. The data are reviewed and the underlying physics is discussed, in particular by comparison with the predictions of current models based on.

Abstract. We discuss the model dependence of the spin parameters for low and medium energy antinucleon-nucleon (N̄N) scattering. An N̄N potential model is used, consisting of a t-channel meson exchange part, supplemented by a complex annihilation potential, adjusted to reproduce the observed energy dependence of total elastic, inelastic, and charge exchange cross sections.
